| Congrats Rox on your first. Big wonderful change in ones life . I too am working on building a burner.I am using an old triple pass cast iron Warden King boiler.Won,t be coal though although this boiler used to be fired with coal. I bought it long time ago without the coal stoker. I am going to start with a wood chip stoker first and maybe play around with a grain one. |

Hi Den Thanks for the well wishes.
I am running an EFM SF-520 with an S-20 stoker and a fitzgibbon boiler from 1953. 5/16" steel plate boiler. HEAVY! hehe.
its been fun. and its a beast. the boiler holds 74 gallons and i'm running hot water baseboard. One thing I need to do is change my extrol tank because I only had a 30 gal and its OK for lower temps but I need a bigger tank as there is ALOT of water in this old girl.
This weekend actually will be my first time to fire it off so I am excited to see how she does! although I have alot to learn.
I am using an outfire Honeywell L6006C to control that but I'm not entirely sure it'll work right due to its location. I may need to move it... we'll find out I guess!!
Good luck on your setup also! let me know how she goes! _________________ Bixby Maxfire 115
