Hi everyone! First of all I would like to wish you all a healthy & prosperous New Year.
I have been out of the country since my last post.
I have not been able to get anyone to come to my home to repair my Europa75. My electric bill is outrageous since that's all I have to heat my home with.
I appreciate the help I was offered, however I do not trust myself to take apart the Europa 75 to see if the auger feed is jammed or not. I used a wet-vac to clean out the pellets from the hopper & burn pot.
The manual does not show how to take apart the auger feed and does not have a schematic diagram of the stove. I have called the company I purchased the stove from and they could not help me. I also called the manufacturer in Canada and was unsuccessful in getting help.
Does anyone know where I can take my pellet stove in or near Rhode Island to get it repaired? Thank you. |

It removes pretty easily. I did this last month just to clean the area after three years of use so I am going by memory
You have to remove the back cover. loosen the set screw that attaches the auger to the motor. Remove the motor. Then there were a couple of phillips screws that hold the auger in place. Then the auger just slides out, along with a bunch of the pellets or corn all over the floor. ( before removing the screws see if the auger spins freely, and spin it clockwise so the pellets will discharge into the burn pot rather than the floor. Make sure you note the position of any washers when removing the auger so you put it together the same way.
Cheers

I had an ash auger jam sometime back.
- I pulled off the wires feeding the motor,
- then took a battery charger (12V) and connected it to the motor in reverse polarity.
- There was a "pop" and corn started filling the hopper.
- I would scoop out the little bit of it by hand until a 3/4" stone appeared in amongst the corn.

Yash: I also had a pretty good auger jam that I corrected like Karl; only instead of using an external power supply I just reversed the auger wires and hit the manual feed button. I had my wife ready at the switch so to speak, and I incrementally made contact with one of the auger wires and the motor until the jam was cleared. You could also unplug the 120AC and control the power via the battery backup. I would caution however, that you pay attention to the total amount of reverse auger rotation, as I believe the auger has a physical stop that limits reverse rotation. I could be wrong about that though, as it’s been a couple of years.
In my case, I came downstairs in the morning and found a full hopper with a jammed auger. When I cleaned out the pellets, much to my surprise, there was the handle of my missing utility knife (that I always use to cut open the bags of pellets, but couldn’t find the previous night) sticking out of the hopper and boy was it jammed!! Hence my online handle.
I thought with all your problems you could use a good laugh.
I hope everything works out.

Mike, I thought of the fuel feed option last night after posting. Agreed.
and... Yes there is a metal bar to take the torque of the feed motor. In reverse the motor wants to rotate - with mine, I held it in place by reaching in the back of the stove through the non-computer door. _________________ Karl Krivanec

Thanks to all who have shared their tips here!
My auger jammed up on Tuesday night. Using the help here and other threads, I was able to get it back burning last night.
I'd like to put together a step-by-step guide for dealing with code F5 that consolidates all of this info for posting to the Wiki. Will post it here when I have some time to work on it.
