The SC-50 is keeping the house warm. Pretty much. When this place was built the put the furnace at one of the house. So that is where I put the SC-50. At the furthest from the furnace is the master bedroom and bath, now we never really have ever heated our bedroom. But it sure would be nice to get a little more heat in the bath. Has anyone had hooked up an aux duct fan? Does it do what you expected?

| For what its worth, I run my LP furnace blower full time as that was suggested by the installer of my LP furnace in 03 but never really did until I put in the REVOLUTION. The dealer there said to run it all the time to keep the heat even and it gets all the heat from the duct because of the cycle times of the high efficient furnaces. I find that doing it this way, I dont use a drop of LP. We have the LP set to kick on at 65 degrees but it never runs because even on setting 3 the REV. I had concerns about wearing out the blower motor prematurely but was also told that it would be actually better for it than for the start capacitor to continually be used. I did replace the LP blower motor last year ,not because of excessive use but because the year before that I had water get into it from my sump malfunction and my basement flooded in to my furnace. I had the control board replaced, cleaned the blower dried out but was warned that I would be lucky to make it thru the heating season with it because it too would eventually fail from the water. I made it to last year but it took 2 days to get the blower motor I needed and the Revolution was a workhorse and kept the house a balmy 63 degrees in below 0 weather here in Iowa. We will see what happens with the rest of the winter here and then see what next year brings. I may shop the autions and garage sales for a back up motor or the whole blower for my application just in case. I ve seen some sales where they nearly cant give one away. At any rate, your furnace should have been matched for your home when it was installed and should supply enough push thru your ducts to keep the heat even. Mine does. It just seems like an after market blower in the duct somewhere would just be an obstruction for the real air from the real heat source to get where it is really needed. |
