What problems are you having. Central boiler is one of the brands I was considering to purchase?

I've only had mine for two weeks, but my first impression is very well built unit (very heavy frame, no cheap parts, everything is premium grade). Their manual and tech support definitely sucks, which is why I'm on this forum asking questions. But the unit itself seems awesome, no complaints here.

Not sure what your disappointed with. I only have one issue with my boiler, and I'm working on a solution.

It sounds like this isn't the Maxim, but the unit that attaches to the chunk wood burners. I've never seen one in operation, but man does it make for one expensive unit.

Exactly what problems are going on. Post the problems and may be able to troubleshoot.

I'm very happy with my Maxim. I need to work on some storage solutions for next year, but that isn't the boiler's fault. Very Happy

Tim

Yes I am disapointed. My unit melted after a couple of months burning pellets Nov2009. Yes I agree there support sucks. They have not ever talked to me, only correspmndence through my local dealer who is also frustrated with CB.

I suspect they had a huge increase in sales volume last year with the rise in oil prices, and didn't have the support channels in place to keep up.

Anyway this year I've been burning 100% straight-from-the-silo corn, and no problems whatsoever. Yes, the old stirrer melts if you are burning pellets, but they sent me a free replacment that is more heavy duty so I really don't have a complaint there either.

I just clean once a week and dump in 6-8 buckets of corn every day.

This was yesterday. Im still waiting for answers from CB. My unit is still not in operation. Currently my unit will not kick into high mode so it wont keep up with the heating load. Any suggestions?

I know this is off topic but since I cant get answers fro CB maybe I can find them here?

Well, tell us a little more....

Do you have a M175 or M250? If you have the M250, press both the up and down arrows on your water temp setpoint at the same time. The unit will now display the burn pot temp. Tell us what you see. If you have the M175, I don't know if there is away to display the burn pot temp, maybe check your manual.

If the unit won't go into high mode, that means either it doesn't think the water temp has dropped enough for high mode, or it doesn't think the burn pot temp is high enough for high mode. Could be a bad burn-pot temp sensor, which is why I wanted to see what your burn pot temp reading is.

If you have been in medim mode for 10 minutes or longer, you should see something north of 600F as your burn pot temp. Mine usually displays more like 850F in medium mode, but that would depend on your feed and air settings for medium.

The other reason it would not go into high mode would be it doesn't think the current water temp is far enough from the setpoint to require high mode. This temp differential is programmable, so maybe somebody messed with yours. Maybe try going back to the factory defaults for all settings, and start over from there. You manual should tell you how to go back to the defaults for everything.
