Has anyone seen the new pellet stove put out by Pacific Energy? It's called a PS 45 and is a free standing unit with either legs or pedestal. It is rated from 10,000 to 45,000 Btu.

Also does anyone know of the best pellet/biomass (including corn) insert with at least 60,000 Btu besides the Quad AE? A 50,000 would possibly work. It could be a manual start unit.

Thanks,
AR

I was able to get a look at one in my local hearth shop. It has a lot of the same features as the enviro's and thought it was a clone? But it is different in some ways.

No multifuel feature Or pressure igniter system, Pot agitator is a weldment. Single inlet, outlet blower. There were a few improvements over the Enviro's in the burnpot grate(cover) They added tabs to stop pellets from skipping out the bottom near the agitator shaft. And skirted the top to protect against pellets boucing out over the top.

This is the only draw back I saw with the Omega burning corn. It lost a lot around the agitator shaft and over the top. I welded the top of mine to stop it and made some SS Steel skirts to stop them going under the shaft area.

I burned corn on the pellet setting on my Omega so I think you would have no issue with the PE burning corn. You would need to play with the exhaust trim air and decreese the auger trim to make it go. But the manual did not say much about burning corn, grass or grains. Might void the warranty?

I was impressed and overall looked like its a well built unit.

Burning mostly wood pellets. But I also burn the corn and grass.

I found a hobby at comparing wood pellets. Just not enough time to burn them all!
