| I scrounged some really nice roadside thermopane windows last season and scored on a nice 40 gallon stainless boiler fed hot water tank while the recession put copper back where it belongs so the time is right. Anyone got a decent favorite link to a glycol filled system that isn't festooned with a hundred valves and electronic switches. I plan on using the tank as a preheater for my Weil Mclean super cell and mount it in an upstairs closet where it will be warm in the winter months and not sitting on the concrete basement floor. With the windows I have I can make at least 3 collectors around 6' by 28" give or take. Any6 great and simple plans out there anyone wants to share???? |

Here's an interesting looking home built collector from builditsolar.com.
Take and post plenty of pictures of your project. _________________ Jeff

| I saw that one the other night and it does certainly look attractive. I might as well just do the collector build and see how it turns out then worry about the small stuff later on. too bad the price of CO was so ugly the last few years, it really put me off on doing this and here in the North we have one big problem. We have to make every solar thing out of the best possible materials available just to keep pace with a coil of PEX laying on a roof down South. Time to get to it.............. |
