Got a new igniter from my dealer (great service by the way), so I thought I would test it out before it was too late.
When I went to put in the new igniter I thought I had missed something. The new one would not fit the housing that came off the original, the igniter was smaller. I thought I saved everything from the original but wasn't 100% sure. I found a washer that fit around the igniter and secured everything with high temp silicone and mechanical fasteners.
My first test promptly over loaded and the fire went out (about 30 minutes). Strange since I didn't mess with anything since I last ran it. At least the igniter worked. I cleaned it out and tried again. I gave it a bit more air and things were going better. I left it run for the better part of a day and adjusted the air 2 more times (ended up to be about what they were originally). Everything got nice and hot and worked as it should.
I think I'll take the leaf blower to the exhaust again and give everything another coat of oil, can't believe how rusty this thing got sitting over the summer. Other than that I think I am ready for the cold. |
