What model Whitfield? They have multi-fuel burners that burn corn. _________________ Countryside 3500P (pedestal version) used 8-9 yrs, 24/7 during days requiring heat. All original motors. Burns moldy corn, and pellets equally well. Burn it if you got it.

That's a very basic, no frills added unit (cheap). I agree with TC, it's a pellet only unit primarily because it has a limited intellegence on the control board and no provision for modifications to burn corn. _________________ Flipmeisters Specialty Products, LLC

Thanks...I have a Whitfield Advantage in my living room...cause my hubby screwed up the wiring on my Dovetec. And the GENTLEMAN i sent it too to get fixed has no clue and he has been installing and repairing all kinds of stove for "30years" as per his add
Burning pellets cause it won't burn corn right and...i don't like the heat compared to the Dovetec....to be continued...lol _________________ Live from Dalhousie Station, Quebec, Canada

Don't you just love those testimonials
The chest beaters that claim tenure at some specialty
Even if they have been doing it badly that long

What exactly is that implication all about? It's plain to see that with the rudimentary controls, it's not capable of sustain burning of corn, has no agitator, has a smallish fire pot and it states all over the manual that it's 'Pellet' only.
A corn adventure in it would probably be a bad dream. I can see the stalagtites of half combusted corn headed vertically toward the roof...(of the firebox).
But what do I know anyway, I'm just a Yankee.
I find it amusing that the Dovetec was running fine, or at least she intimated it was and then 'hubby' screwed it up. Now, all she has is her wool blanket and a non corn compatible unit. She could always roast a sled in the house. They burn quite well. Stink alot as the 'glass melts but they burn...and hot.
Sounds like 'hubby' needs to keep his hands in his pockets and out of the inner workings of a simple corn burner. Hopefully, 'hubby' don't tinker with sleds either. Sleds are quite a bit more complex than a lowly corn stove.
I like your avitar too Sting. I would go for some more frontal nudity but then, this isa a family site. _________________ Flipmeisters Specialty Products, LLC
