I have started burning a 50 50 mix of corn and pellets. I have never burnt pellets I am running the feed rate on #3 and the main fire stays in the back ofthe burn pot by the auger and tapers to the front. Is this enough feed rate? or to mutch? I have only burnt corn and always left the feed rate on two. love the mix so far burns alot cleaner than straight corn

as I understand the setting, you use the feed rate as a controller to limit the max amount of new corn/pellets entering the burn pot. The setting should be adjusted to get the hot glowing body of corn about 2" - 3" from the front of the burn pot. The fuzzy logic electronics will then adjust the rate to maintain the temperature setting. If you set the feed rate too low, the stove will not get hot. If you have it too high, the burnpot will overflow or possibly put out the fire.

the more you turn up the feed rate the more control you give the stove and the more efficient the stove. and actually with straight corn if the feed rate is to low it will act like it is over feeding when really it cant keep a good enough base fire. with a 50/50 mix i would turn it up to more like a 4 4.5

what about with pellets, on a P68? I have adjusted the feed rate per the instructions, but i never get the line in the front. I have just left the setting at 2.5 or 3, and i scrape out the ash in the front every couple days. If i dont i get a tall thin flame. Stove seems to run fine though. If i go to 4 or 5 will i waste pellets?
