I am considering putting a 100000 btu ldj furnace in a farm shop which is 50 x 60 and will be very well insulated. I was thinking about putting 8ft above the floor in the loft to save floor space (16ft ceiling) will ten ft or so of chimney pipe be enough to make it draw properly? Is the stainless inside mild steel outside pipe like Menards sells good enough for this application?

Menards sells Selkirk chimney and it is a quality item. You need to extend your chimney 2 feet above anything that is within 10 feet of the chimney and you should get the necessary draft. You can always install a draft inducer if necessary. On another note. How are you going to get your fuel up to the furnace?? Good luck!-CC
