I've just started burning corn. I asked at the local agriculture center if they had corn dry enough for pellet stoves, and they said yes, 15%. When I got it home it turned out to be cracked corn. I burned it, but I'd like to be sure it's OK. Is it? Is one better than the other?

I've seen previous threads on this question but the answers seemed to go back and forth.

if you tried to burn cracked corn in your accentra you have a mess!! vac all the corn out of the hoppper and see if the auger will turn in test mode auger may need to be removed and unclogged.

I almost got through the bag of corn, burned, and then the auger stopped. Last night my favorite handyman came over and took the Accentra apart until he could rotate auger by hand, and yes indeed a mess came out.

I didn't know he'd be so successful so fast.

Thank you. From now on, whole corn only!

The manual says it's designed to burn 'biomass', 80 per cent wood pellets plus 20 percent of other materials such as dried corn.
