Everything works fine. The house is staying warm. I can drop a clinker. The only issue I have is the auger and/or its motor sounds like it is moaning when ever it runs. Loud enough to hear throughout the whole house Just how loud is this thing suppose to be?

sounds like your auger is just about ready to seize up Crying or Very sad pull it out before it does and clean up the shaft with emory cloth and put antisieze on it will be better than new but be prepared to change your draft and your feed rates as it will feed more corn after you free it up Rolling Eyes

You may have a piece of stalk in the auger. I've had this several times. Sounds horrible, but eventually clears itself out.

Sounds like the same symptom I had last year with the bushings on the auger. You'll need to take the back covers off and unbolt the auger and pull it out.

When I did that to mine I found kind of a hard black deposit built up inside the lower bushing. I scraped that clean with an old bearing scraper and it moved freely after that, problem solved. I also cleaned up the top of the shaft. Did not do anything to the upper bushing, as it stayed in the stove when I removed the shaft.

Well you were all right about the bushing. Pulled the auger, top bushing came with it (lot of work getting it out) needed a gear puller to get both bushings off! I don't know for sure but I bet the bushing was turning in its seat instead of the auger turning in the bushing. Cleaned everything up and reassembled with anti-seize.

This furnace hasn't even been running for a whole winter. I am starting to wonder if getting into burning corn was a good idea. At least with this model furnace. Part of me thinks I should have had the 'dealer' come out and do it all.
