A friend of mine has a P-61A that she dropped a figurine in when she was filling it. She removed it but didn't know that the head broke off. When she came home the stove was off and she says the auger won't feed, the head got jammed in the auger. She removed it and called her dealer and he says the stove needs to be rebuilt. I have a Quad AE that I do all my own work on and I know the auger is easy to replace on it, but how hard is it to replace on the P-61? I am assuming without looking at it that it would just need the auger motor. Is this a job I could tackle for her? Thanks in advance for the help. _________________ QuadraFire Mt. Vernon AE

I've had my auger motor off on my boiler, real easy to do. In appears to me, in the link below, pg #1, item # 4 which is the auger motor cover has to be removed to get to the auger motor. Next, pg #5, item #17, loosen the hex bolt which is tightened against the flat spot on the auger motor, the auger motor can now be removed, make sure you line this back up when you reassemble. After the auger motor is removed, make sure the auger assembly turns freely, maybe still some pieces caught in the auger preventing the auger motor from turning the auger assembly.
