I read that Graphite on the auger works to reduce friction in the tube. This is good for both the auger on the stove (high heat graphite spray) and good on a hopper steel auger.
Anyone ever try this??

The graphite would have to be in the corn. The corn augered through the tube would scour anything coating the tube. Corn by itself flows pretty good. It doesn't present a lot of surface contact to the auger and tube. If there is a lot of fines and dust then there is more friction. _________________ Countryside 3500P (pedestal version) used 8-9 yrs, 24/7 during days requiring heat. All original motors. Burns moldy corn, and pellets equally well. Burn it if you got it.

Every year, I have put some in my LDJ and the Harman stove. Actually, it came with the LDJ! _________________ LDJ 165K BOILER / Harman PC45 / Kan_Burn Cleaner/Mover - the original |

I just put out my last half bag of corn for the turkeys! I thought it wouldn't be any good next fall! Is that right? It'll be usefully moldy or clean? |
