Hey everyone,
good to see the forum back up (thanks!).
I called around a couple places (Indiana) the other day for some prices.
Rural King was $3.49/bag
Menards was on sale for $3.49 but I think reg price might be $3.89
Tractor Supply was $3.90 (Somerset brand, these were good last year...will try them again this year & see)
Lowes was higher, almost $6/bag...geez
Nice to see cheaper pellets _________________ Quadrafire Sante Fe |

Here where I live, at Tractor Supply, it's 4.38 a bag - 219. a ton.
The Lowes and Home Depot were about the same price - one of them was 214. a ton.
Walmsrt was the most expensive place at 6. a bag. |

Pellets are $169/ton at Bens in Brown City, MI. They delivered 8 tons for me last week with a semi and a nice 3-wheeled hi-low. Set them right next to my Maxim and then I covered them with a tarp. Should be just about enough for the winter, and a lot better deal than $5.25 / bu for corn. _________________ Maxim M250 outdoor corn/pellet burner

I paid 196 for Allegany, could have got them where I work (shhhh TSC) for a couple of dollars cheaper, but they were AWF, and I've heard good and bad so.......
I'm mainly burning corn bought the week before the price hike, but wondered if they'd put pellets up as corn was rising, so thought I'd cover my British Butt!

They told me $55, but then they didn't actually put it on my bill. Maybe it's because I bought 8 tons, don't know and didn't want to ask. _________________ Maxim M250 outdoor corn/pellet burner

Well hard to explain to me or you but I already left this post last night and today it is not here, however "JD" where exactly do you live? You are speaking of my favorite store "Ben's". So you must be in the area? And for those who do not know "Ben's" is the place you can, cash your check, pick up groceries, get a sub for lunch, 5, 2"x4''s, a new chain for my saw(hell why not a new saw), a box of shells(well why not a new gun?). Yes you can get everything and anything there! B _________________ Countryside 3500P Clinker pot

Brown City is a bit far for me but not from our vacation home in Canada Lakes....... It's all wood there. 163 acres of mixed wood/hardwood keeps the house warm all winter.
......$5.25 is a good price compared to what it will go to later this year..... Europe is driving the price, along with Obama's new ethanol mandate. _________________ Flipmeisters Specialty Products, LLC

Thanks for the heads-up. If I was a bit closer I would try them out for sure, but it would cost me more than $28 in gas & time right now instead of just getting from rural king. My shed now has 2 pallet's worth, should be set for most of the winter. _________________ Quadrafire Sante Fe |

Just bought pellets @ woodpellets.com, They were advertising on craigslist for $175. When I bought 6 tons for me and neighbors the gave it to me for $160 + 75 delivery fee. They are there house brand PureFlame and a hardwood blend. So far so good. Will be cold here friday. Sams and HD wanted $6 bag and local ace was playing a shell game with prices 200-250. I took 3 ton. Should last thru winter. Annapolis,Md
My buddy is supposed to bring me some shell corn to try out in my stove. Can't wait to try, But pellets are cheaper right now due to ethanol and hungry chickens! |

Yep, grabbing more pellets. Seeing price of $269/ton for dry, shelled corn in bulk, yikes! Was around $200/ton last year. Pellets at home depot currently for $216/ton I believe. _________________ Bixby 115, burning 80% corn and sometimes pellets |
