TSC says they will beat any price around. That is how I bought mine for $168, Ben's Hardware is selling them at that price, TSC got tired of everyone coming in and telling them that so they went from $199 to $168. B _________________ Countryside 3500P Clinker pot

I picked up 3 tons from TSC in Saline @199 last week then got another 3 tons this week for $174, after remembering about the propellets at Mejers. They where on sale all summer, and they are still there.
Has anyone got pellets from lowes or HD in AA area? I think once these are all gone, i'm going to get a truck load from woodpellet.com and rent a fork lift. To bad they dont do online pricing for truckloads anymore. |

I've never really seen pellets in local box stores. But I haven't looked much.
The truckload idea sounds good. I just bought 4 tons of pellets at TSC, $179/ton, but I have to pick them up in my minivan. Probably I'll make 6 trips, about 1300 lb per load, about as much as I think I want to put in the minivan at once. A lot of lifting bags. There are quite a few burners around here, it seems like if we could get a deal on a truckload, SideCarFlip could make up a route and deliver them, for a reasonable charge. A forklift would sure save a lot of work.
Of course, next year, hopefully, corn will be cheaper! _________________ Mark

geez Mark 1300#'s seems like a lot of weight for a minivan, let me know how that works out..........I'd be afraid to put that much in my F150, as matter of fact I'd be afraid to more than a 1000#'s in it.
Since corn is going out of site I was thinking that I may have to burn some pellets this year and that means picking them up, so its like how many trips am I going to have to make per ton. _________________ "You know everybody is ignorant only on different subjects"...Will Rogers

If they will keep for 3 years and the price was right. I would rent a small Genie all terrian fork lift with a boom and put them in my barn.
If woodpellet.com or any one else start doing split loads with a fork truck in the se mi area, I will take 6 to 8 tons a year, at the right price. My plan for this year was to have Maybee Coop drop off my pellets. |

When I got 1300 lb in the minivan (33 bags), I figured, what the heck, how much can another 17 bags hurt?
So, I moved one ton at a time, all 50 bags. Hand loaded and unloaded them, all 200 bags, handled twice each. I will be hurting tomorrow.
The minvan seemed to handle it just fine. It's a 1996 Grand Caravan, got it from my in-laws. Don't know if it has a heavy duty suspension but I suspect so, since 2000 lb didn't bottom it out. Brandy new Michelin tires, I pumped them up to 40 psi. It's an easy 7 mile drive to TSC. By the fourth load I was moving along, up to 50 mph on straight stretches, but I slowed down enough at corners and intersections so that I practically didn't even use the brakes. No sudden moves allowed!
In the end, I moved all four tons in about 4 hours of pretty hard work. Here are some pics:
Loaded with 2000 lb at TSC:
Riding low, but not bottoming out:
Three tons on two skids, about 7' high:
Leftover pellets (27 bags) + one ton new pellets + one helper just filled up one of my corn bins:

wow mark I'm impressed, that must be one heavy duty mini van, I would have never thought it would handle that much.
as for handling 200 bags twice in one day , it must be nice to be in shape.
those pro pellets are good pellets if you haven't use them before you'll be happy with them. _________________ "You know everybody is ignorant only on different subjects"...Will Rogers

I used to fill my old 94 Ford Ranger up with 1500# corn, and it would barely drop the back end on it. It was an exteded cab v6 with off road package 214k miles on her. Now, my F350 now easily gets 3600# and drives like a Cadilac. _________________ LDJ 165K BOILER / Harman PC45 / Kan_Burn Cleaner/Mover - the original |

I must need some new springs in my f150 (94 ext cab)
I put just under 900#'s of landscape blocks this summer and it felt like the front wheels were coming off the ground _________________ "You know everybody is ignorant only on different subjects"...Will Rogers

I routinely put 1800 lbs in my Dodge ram 1500 short box. Don't even notice it's there. _________________ __________________________USSC 6039________________________

I hauled a couple of skids of wood pellets in my Tacoma now and it handles them one at a time without to much trouble. Only travel a couple of miles but I take it nice a slow over bumps and mostly back roads to my house. Last time I ran the gas low in my tank when I hand unloaded them leveling them out across the bed best I could. It was crouching pretty good but seemed to handle it fine. Owners manual list 1,300# bed capacity so I was a little over weight at 2,000#.... I did pass a local cop sitting in a parking lot this last trip and she did look when I went past and did not pull out... _________________ St. Croix Afton Bay

Anyone have a good lead for pellets in N.W. Ohio at good prices? I bought a ton for 195 at my dealer but they are 1.5 hrs away.
