Time to gear up for another winter and weighing options on corn or wood pellets. With corn prices up, here around $5.60 I'm looking to switch to wood pellets. What I'm wondering is just what it does and how the adaptor works on the 2100. Also a ballpark cost on it. And do you really need the adaptor. Thanks for the help.... _________________ When things seem to be going bad and times are at their worse, don't worry. Know your in good hands! |

Yes you REALLY do need the conversion kit to burn pellets safely. It changes the stove from a positive pressure stove to a negative pressure. Burning pellets in a postiive pressure stove allows the pellets that are still in the auger chute to catch fire and burn all the way back to the hopper. Now you have a house fire
I dont know the current price. I will look around. _________________ You can pour syrup on poop...but that don't make it pancakes

| The cost of the neg pressure kit I got from a couple dealers last fall were around 385-400 bucks. I found one on E-bay that was used a few times and got it for $76.00. |

I think they gave you a few bucks off. Pellets or not Negative draft makes a better unit _________________ Sometime times you win and sometimes you learn. |

I too have the negative draft kit on my 2100.
Pricey, but makes for a better stove. My reason was to aid in dust/ash control in the house.
It was a PIA to install and will make moving the stove more of a hassle because of the wires.
I am hoping the kit lasts for a long time for the money and hassles of installation. _________________ My Therapist Recommends Shock Therapy. |

Thanks for all the advice! Looks like I'll have to make the investment, not looking foreword to shelling out that kind of cash. Craig can you explain or anyone for that matter why it's a PIA to install. Also does it require alot more room behind the burner from the wall? _________________ When things seem to be going bad and times are at their worse, don't worry. Know your in good hands! |

I burn corn only and am very satisfied with the dust control of the negative draft.
Fishing the wires thru the vent, back to the stove power source was a hassle. The kit includes a magnet that is required to plug a cap inside the stove. All other work is outdoors, and requires no additional space inside the home. It also makes the stove quieter...which is an added bonus.
It just seemed to me to be a PIA and I hope like hell it does not require any maintenance for a few years. _________________ My Therapist Recommends Shock Therapy. |

I might add that the kit is kinda pricey for what you get...but I am a fan of the Amaizablaze company. Kudos to them if the kit lasts me years.
If it only lasts a 2nd winter...then I will be a dissappointed customer. _________________ My Therapist Recommends Shock Therapy. |

Factory retail last year was $412. You may can talk a guy down into the $300's if you can find a hungry dealer or one who has more on stock than he wants. I can point to my dealer if you want or you can find one. _________________ Sometime times you win and sometimes you learn. |

| I have 2 for a 2100 and 2 for a 4100 left in stock that I would let go for $275.00 plus whatever shipping costs will be. I don't push them as we only burn corn in my area. |
