although the builder of this contraption has not plumbed the coil to balance flow between the three risers - its a much safer design.

How much heat does he get by having the heat exchangers on the outside of the stove? I have seen this style sold on E-bay and yes it looks very safe but not particuarly effective.
I guess it depends on how much you want to heat. |

I recall that was documented in the utube -- or maybe it was on his web link

There has been a lot of discussion on here regarding heating hot water with your stove. I stumbled across this and thought it to be a better setup than trying to butcher your stove, and I thought I would share it with the rest of you.

Thanks, Binford.

It's $6149.00 delivered and you install it. I can heat a lot of hot water by conventional means for 6 grand.
Had to search for the price. Was hidden in the hype. _________________ Flipmeisters Specialty Products, LLC

I might add what is the life expectancy of the pieces on the roof?
A couple other facts is right now our electric hot water heater costs us 1.00 a day to heat water 24 hours a day. That figures out over 16 years before it would pay for itself and that is optomistic because there is short days in the winter and how many days are cloudy with no sun peeking out at you.
I suspect butchering the roof via nails, screws and pipes will shorten the life of the roof plus the solar panels better be bolted down rock solid or the wind will remove them.
it should also be noted that this system is supplemental or in addition to your conventional heating system so you shouldn't depend on it for all your needs. |

Price is available under the pricing tab -- no drama there but if we compare that cost -- of installation and operation over the (estimated) life span - the decision keys narrow vs. the (similar) of one of them new heat exchanger models. or build one from plans on the builditsolar web pages _________________ When you turn your boiler on - - Does it return the favor?
