Ignitor went out again. Last one was put in Jan 5. Asked dealer about the new pot and he said he knew nothing about them. I told him i hav e seen and heard people talked about them on this site. He says they do not exist and if the ignitors keep going out so fast i should stop burning corn and go to pellets.

tell him to call quad, and if he wants you to go to pellets, he should pay the difference in cost. Rolling Eyes igniters don't cost him anything, wonder what his problem is. Confused

Sounds like he shouldn't be a dealer if he can't keep current or doesn't want to put forth the effort to keep current by making a simple phone call. I have seen ignitors go out fairly quick with straight pellets as well.

firepot # SRV7034-072, I know "they" wanna see multiple failures before they will cover or at least thats the last I knew. I don't know how many you've had but if its more then 4 then shouldn't be a real problem. Even if you had to buy it and put it in yourself, it just might be worth it. Or if you wanted to modify the one you have in there now. I have the dimesions of the material that needs to be removed if you want them.

Burned out another ignitor. 2nd one this season and 5th in just over 2 years. I'm burning pellets this season so not sure why.

A stove that shuts down to clean and has a habit of burning up ignitors is a very bad combination.

I am out of warranty now so is there a cheap place to get them?

Thanks

if it has been under 90 days, it is still under warranty. and cheapest place is still a dealer. should only be around 45.00

The dealer gave me an extra that just burned up when he was here last season and I didn't burn all summer so I used up my 90 days. I will call him about getting an new one. Are they doing anything about this issue? Will the new pot help?

Thanks!
Nate

i would tell the dealer you just stuck it in this season. he can warranty it out and it don't cost him. i just did it with a customer that had it in under 90 days. the verdict is still out on the new pot design. it is too early to tell. i do know, it starts corn up one hell of a lot faster. the corn is smokin before it is done feeding Shocked i was having at least one misfire a day per the corn in the ashpan. ever since i modified my old pot, nary a kernal of corn in the ashpan. Very Happy

I had two failures and then asked for the new pot. Didn't have a problem getting it whatsoever. They even drop shipped it to my house at their expense from the warehouse. I even tried to give them my ups account number. Hearth and Home didn't like the idea of it being shipped to my house. Something about dealer needs to follow ltl procedure on invoice.

Emailed dealer and he responded

"The igniter is 37.00 We can try to run it though warranty, that would be your cost if they won’t cover it."

We'll see what happens

I would ask him to do warranty on the firepot too. Either they will cover it or they won't, but no harm in asking!

My dealer has be great since day one. His name is Jim and he owns Reinkes hearth and home in Harrison MI. I highly recommend him. He has a really nice store and the service is the best.

I offered to drive to his store with igniters and burnpot. He gave replacements and will only charge me if warranty doesn't cover. The igniter casing was cracked so I would have to imagine it will be covered.

Thye stove is back together and fired up.
