Do you like your burner? Does it work well or do you need to mess with it a lot? Does it get rid of the clinker and not waste corn or make a lot of ash?Could you describe how the burner works? _________________ Pelco 1520 |

| It took a day of futzing to get the feed setting just right, but has run great since then. Low fire is 2:15 minutes on, 7:45 off and it stayed lit until 65 degree weather here. I will try to post a picture of the burnpot, when I can get this new forum figured out![/img] |

I took some photos before I installed my Thor in February. It came from the factory with a Grundfos circulator pump. It has 3 speed settings and I just put it on the middle one. It has worked fine on this setting. Do some applications need a higher flow? Anyone know if water:air heat exchangers need more flow than water:water?
Anyway, I think the burnpot design is pretty neat and I posted the photos I took before the install. Combustion air comes from below. Corn drops from auger above into existing fire. Stainless agitator stirs fire and breaks up clinker to burn as much as possible. I clean out excess ash about once a week. (WAY easier maintenance than with a 6039 stove!)

| Does anyone have a THOR model 200 (outdoor) manual available for download? I just need to know if there are any (printed) restrictions as to how close I can place this to my house. I think there's a recommended distance of 10 feet, but I need to place it closer, if possible. I'm hoping the 10 foot recommendation is NOT in the manual, as my local building inspector doesn't seem all that enthused about allowing the installation of outdoor boilers in the 1st place. Thanks in advance! |
