y'know I have put about 200 bushels of corn thru opur burner, n the funny thing is when I get way low in the hopper, I still see some of the pellets from that first 6 bags we started it with before we got the corn over here, I wonder how long I will keep seeing these - probably till I run outta corn, wondering about those who mix, don't you find the pellets float up and the corn goes right past them?

I forgot that I didn't fill all the way up the night before, and then didn't get right out ther in the morning, so when I did it was out, thought I was out of propane, but it was just shut off, If it wouldn't of been snowing I was going to wax the sides of the hopper with car wax and get it goin real slick, pellets are worse, but I had at least 3/4 bushel left of corn and it was not goin down. I think real car wax will do it.

Before my Maxim, I had a corn boiler that was gravity fed from my bin. Occasionally the corn would not flow so I connected a hand held body massager to the gravity feed pipe (3" PVC). When ever the boiler feed auger would run it would turn on the massager. It worked well. I think you could put one right in the hopper and have it turn on when the boiler calls for the feed auger to run. I am sure you could be inventive in what size and shape of vibrating apparatus you used.

My opinion is pellets seem sorta sticky and corn rolls a lot better. That said, the last 10 bushels of corn doesn't want to run out of my gravity box either, I have to bump it for a few days and then climb inside fwhen I'm down to the last last 5 bushels or so.

That vibrator idea is a new one, nice creative thinking!!

Watch a dump truck dump their load. They have a vibrater on them to get the box cleaned out.

Now on to what burns my rear!

When I get down to about 1.5 to 2 bags of pellets in the hopper, they do not fall into the auger hole.

I'm trying to figure out how to have a vibrator wired into the power for the upper auger motor so I can attach it to the bottom of the hopper to fix this problem.

Shocked

They have a power outlet in the hopper on the M250, it's for powering the optional external auger, it turns on periodically to fill the hopper. I would think if you connected that up to some sort of 120V vibrating device you would be good to go.

It just like your truck.

Do you wait until it running on fumes to fill or do you keep it at least half full or so
Why wait for it to be empty ?
Keep it filled
The hopper works just like any grain bin it empties from the top to the bottom
Thus you will always have the first stuff you put in unless you completly empty it
