An Auger is a spiral of steel, wrapped around a center shaft. When the auger is enclosed with in a steel tube, and turned, the corn is conveyed up the length of the tube to the end, or spout. Here are some large grain augers that will typically be used to fill wagons, trucks or grain bins on a farm.

For the ultimate in auger automation, use a proxity sensor or saddle switch to turn on auger when receiver bin is low. Use another proximity sensor or saddle switch to turn off auger when bin is full. Available from http://www.mooreautomationinc.com/.
