Building Your Own Kan-Burn
From Cornburning
Tools Needed:
- Something to cut your PVC pipe( I used a saws all)
- Something to cut your screen(I used metal snips)
- Ruler or Tape measure
- Dremel with sanding pad
- Shop vac
- Large hammer(if you don't have a hammer while creating something, your really not creating something, you'll find a use for it, I always do)
Shopping List (*= degree turn on pvc pipe)
- 2 or more 55 Gal plastic drums (Should be available almost everywhere)
- 4ft 3" PVC Pipe
- 2ft 2" PVC Pipe
- 2ft 1 1/2" PVC Pipe
- 3ft of 1/4" screen
- 3" Y Junction(not sure of official name)
- 2 3" to 1 1/2" End Caps
- 4" to 2" Reducer Rubber Boot
- 45* 2" PVC bend
- 2" Adapter with female side on one end, and THREADS on the other(not sure of official name)
- 2" to 1 1/2" PCV Adapter
- Shop Vac Kit with 8' of hose (WALMART)
- Zip ties
- Speaker Wire
- PVC Cement
- Goop
This Shopping list does not include a Shopvac or the tools listed above.
The Y Adapter
The first step is to cut a three inch length of the 3" diameter PVC pipe. This will be used to connect the end cap to the bottom of the Y junction.
Making sure to de-burr the cut edges of the 3" diameter PVC, test assmeble onto the bottom of the Y and with the 3" to 1.5" reducer as shown .
The Reducer
Now you want to take BOTH 3" to 1 1/2" end caps and use a dremel to sand the lip off of the inside of the cap to allow the 1 1/2" PVC Pipe to slide through.
You will now need to cut 2 3" long, 2"PVC sections that will be used to connect the pieces: Image:Kan-Burn bottom3.jpg
