From what I've read here the clinker formers do have less ash. I wonder if that isn't from the ash being blown out of the stove with the faster air movement. Maybe not it but makes me wonder. Fly ash is just that-if you can get it up the stack it flys away.
Allowing the corn to gasify undisturbed makes for a hotter fire and more efficiency. There is also less moving parts and you don't have the agitators accumulating deposits requiring cleaning every so often.
