For me

From Cornburning

Most of the people you will talk to on this forum love their corn burners, sometimes to the point of obsession. They love talking about their stoves and continually working to increase efficiency and ease of use.

Thinking about yourself, if you like to save money, and tinker a bit, and learn about your stove, then corn burning is something you will enjoy. There are countless opportunities to do many of these activities.

But, in fairness, you must realize corn burning is not the same as what you are used to with fossil fuels such as natural gas or propane. It is more work. There will be times where your corn burner won't work right, there are things you will have to learn. There will be idiosyncrasies of your stove, and your setup, that will frustrate you. The people on the Corn Burner's forum will become your best friends. You will eventually ask them to be in your wedding. But these people on the forum will help you work out these problems. To find out the troubles with your stove and help set you straight and get you working correctly.

Still, all of this being said, even with our help here at the forum, there is still work involved. It isn't a perfect science and there are many, many variables so you will have to continue learning and figuring things out, and tinkering, inventing and optimizing for the length of time you own your stove.

So, the question you have to ask yourself going in, is this really for me? Do I like this sort of stuff? Am I willing to learn and go through the extra work? Because if you arn't, you are going to hate corn burning, and your stove is going to just sit in the corner unused. We would hate to see that.
