History

Following the success of Kan_Burn cleaner/mover, the need for a portable, lightweight corn cleaner/mover that is as good as or better than the original Kan_Burn arose. And of course, the need was met!

Please Note

See the main Kan_Burn for specifics on the overall system as this article will focus on the mini exclusively.

The first mini kan_burn was designed as a secondary gravity-fed cleaner attached to the bottom of a corn bin. Cleaned corn flowed into one bucket while fines were collected in the other. It was comprised of a piece of 1/4" hardware cloth rolled and tie-wrapped around a partially-ripped length of 1.5" ABS pipe; a 3" PVC wye and a PVC bushing 3" to 1.5" with the 1.5" hole reemed out a bit to accommodate the 1.5" ABS pipe.

Corn4MyHeat then built and tested a succesful vacuum version of the mini kan_burn as documented in the following thread. He reported that it cleaned as effectively as the full size (mama) kan_burn and that it presented a feasible alternative especially where headspace is lacking for a fullsize kan_burn. Note that C4's mini, below, is slightly longer than Corny's pictured above. http://forum.iburncorn.com/viewtopic.php?t=3045 burningcorn116.jpg
