Not enough heat
From Cornburning
If you are not getting enough heat from your stove there are several things you can begin to look at.
- Has the stove been cleaned recently? A buildup of ash will greatly reduce the amount of heat collected by the heat exchanger.
- Is the stove under powered? Are you just trying to heat too much space with it? Look at it's BTU output and then do some research to figure out if this is within the BTU range you need to heat your space.
- How does the flame look? Corn stoves are not the same as gas stoves. You generally want to see a strong yellow fire. Blue flames might be high in temperature, but are a signal of a weak oxygen starved corn fire.
