I have just installed my Quadra-fire insert and am having some great success. I was able to remove my existing gas fireplace and replace it with the Quadra-fire. My initil experiences have shown that a 70/30 mix of corn/pellets offers the best balance of heat and clincker buildup. Pure corn seems to clinker very fast. Even a small amount of pellets seems to reduce this greatly. Who know's I am still experimenting.

One other note: even on the high fan setting the unit is extremely quiet.
