A vacuum based corn moving system can be either something homebuilt or purchased on the market, such as this cyclone built by Ja-Ran Enterprises

You also need to cut a hole in the bottom and install a flange. Attach a blast gate as a valve to drop corn through to your cleaner or bin.

Consider either your current shop vac or rather purchase a dust collector with 4 times the power or greater for the same price. And you don't have to worry about your shop vac plugging up.

You will have to static ground your system for corn to flow:

There is a sensor unit you can purchase for the top of the cyclone. When the level reaches it, it automatically alerts you with a light, or you could rig up your favorite ring tune!

The Dust Deputy easily connects to your existing shop vacuum. Simply connect your vacuum's hose to the 2" diameter port on top of the cyclone. Then attach a vacuum hose to the 1.5" diameter cyclone inlet port on the side of the cyclone and then connect the other end of the hose to your tool. You can use existing hoses or purchase hoses from Oneida to attach to the cyclone. We offer three hoses (see below) in 1", 1.25" and 1.5" diameter. Each hose has one end with a cuff to attach to the 1.5" diameter cyclone inlet. The other end is sized to the hose diameter (1", 1.25" or 1.5" etc).

The picture at left is actually from a biodeisel operation. For corn, I'm using a PVC 1.5" ball valve purchased from a pool & hot-tub retailer, as shown in the centre pic along with a mini vacuumless Kan_Burn for secondary cleaning. Steel fence T-posts were used for legs. Update: As of Aug. 2007, I'm now using a 2" self-cleaning blast gate (from Lee Valley Tools http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&cat=1&p=42401) in place of the 1.5" ball valve. Works very well! -- Corny

Proximity Sensors
For the ultimate in control, consider installing a proxity sensor to turn on your vacuum when the receiver bin is low. Use another poxity sensor to turn it off when the bin is full. The sensors would also work for controlling augers.

Kan_Burn Mover/Cleaner
See the complete Kan_Burn article for more information.
CornVac Mover/Cleaner
CornVac makes a vacuum based mover & cleaner much like the KanBurn that can move corn only into a sealed container. It is essentially a small cyclone requiring minimal head space.
CornVac also makes a mobile mover/cleaner that can move corn into an open container. It uses a rotary airlock to do this, pictured below with the CornVac cyclone cleaner attached to its top.
CornVac also has a number of related accessories including vacuum hose, secondary bins plus plans on how to build your own out of plywood. http://www.cornvac.com/
Cornvac cleaner/mover attached to an above stove loading box.
The device below the loading box is an auto-dumping checkvalve designed by BlueWolf as discussed in the following thread: http://forum.iburncorn.com/viewtopic.php?t=5449 .
